Executive Director & Co-Founder
Zach Rocha has been the executive director and co-founder of Sidekick Sports Academy since its inception in 2012 as Sidekick Soccer Academy. He has helped develop Sidekick into a leader in the sports industry and a reputable, professional organization centered in Massachusetts.
Zach has overseen tremendous growth within the company, helping to expand Sidekick Soccer Academy into Sidekick Sports Academy in 2016. Sidekick has an impressive social media and digital presence, which Zach has continuously strengthened so that interactive learning is more easily accessible. Sidekick has positively affected nearly 50 communities - both domestic and abroad - and Sidekick has directly worked with tens of thousands of players and coaches in its short history.
In addition to Sidekick, Zach has been a National Premier Soccer League Associate Head Coach, a NCAA Division III Men’s Head Coach, and a Director and Staff Coach at several of Massachusetts’ top youth soccer clubs. He has worked at literally every level of the American soccer pyramid from youth players with special needs all the way to professional players. He had a multi-year stint with Major League Soccer’s New England Revolution Youth Academy.
Zach is currently the head coach for the U14 Brookline Juventus (Boys), whom finished 2nd in their division in Boston Area Youth Soccer (BAYS) in Fall 2016. Previously, he coached the U14 Brookline Blazers (Girls) for two years, helping to lead them to a BAYS championship in Fall 2015, as well as third-place finish in their age group in the World Futsal Championships in 2015 at Disney World. The team boasted several US Soccer Club National Champions, as well as a National Olympic Development Program (ODP) Pool Player.
Additionally, Zach is the head coach for Brandeis FC, whom compete in NIRSA Region I Club Soccer, as well as an assistant with the Lexington High School Boys' Varsity Soccer team which won the Massachusetts Division I State Championship in Fall 2016 while in his first year on the sidelines with the team.
A 10-year veteran of the business, Zach has his NSCAA Premier, NSCAA Director of Coaching, and NSCAA Goalkeeper I Diplomas. He has been invited to be an Associate Staff coach with the NSCAA.
Zach has also earned his US Futsal National Level 3 Coaching Diploma and is a on the USYF Northeast Regional Coaching Staff. He is a USSF Grade 8 referee and holds the ICA Fitness and Conditioning for Soccer License, the NFHS Coaching Unified Sports (Special Olympics) License, and the Heads Up: Concussions in Youth Sports Certificate.
Zach played at NCAA Division III Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass., where he was two-time all-conference, a two-time co-captain, team MVP, and helped lead the school to back-to-back conference championship games. Primarily a defensive center midfielder, he was famous for long throw-ins that resulted in several direct assists. He had professional invitations to USL and NPSL teams and trained with teams in LUSA. He continues to play through involvement in the OTHSL (Chestnut Hill Soccer Club). He captained the Wolves Co-Ed Adult team to the 2015 Massachusetts Futsal Championship.
He is a native of New Bedford, Mass.

Jesse Vann is the co-founder of Sidekick Soccer Academy. He is the driving philosophical force behind the organization.
Jesse authored the book, One Love. One Game., detailing his thoughts on why soccer can improve the world.
He has coached at Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill, Mass. and with Global Premier Soccer. He played collegiately at Chester University in England and in the Maryland Olympic Development Program as a youth.
In addition to soccer, Jesse is the owner of Vann Development, a real estate development firm in the United States Virgin Islands. He is also the CEO and founder of Traveling Minds, a philosophical organization dedicated to utilizing the experience of travel as a way to improve the quality of life.
He is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and a dual English-American citizen. His childhood love of the Wolverhampton Wanderers has had a direct effect on Sidekick’s crest and colors and the naming of Sidekick’s division, Wolves Futsal Club. He currently resides in St. John's (USVI).
Associate Director - Registrar
Keith Beaty has been an integral part of Sidekick's growth since its move to the Greater Boston area in 2013.
Keith has helped the organization reach continual growth in programming, participants, volunteers and coaches. Working with players of all ages, Keith’s tactical knowledge is unmatched and his ability to connect with youth players is outstanding.
Keith has been a leading force of the Wolves Futsal Club, helping to guide all aspects of the program, from academy to elite teams.
He holds the UEFA 'B' License and NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, as well as the US Futsal National Level 3 Coaching Diploma.
He is also currently the Head Boys' Varsity Coach at Lexington High School, whom he guided to its first Massachusetts State Championship (Division I) in his first year as head coach in 2016. He is also an assistant coach with Brandeis FC (NIRSA Region I).
A long-time veteran of the business, Keith has previously worked for Grasshopper Football Club and NEFC.
He continues to play competitively, competing in the top amateur leagues in Massachusetts. He led the Wolves Co-Ed Adult team to the 2015 Massachusetts Futsal Championship.
A former professional ballroom dancer, he is fluent in English and Brazilian Portuguese.
Associate Director - 'Kick with Care'
John Teves has been the director of Sidekick’s ‘Kick with Care’ department since its inception in 2013.
John has helped the department reach continual growth in programming, volunteers and coaches. Working with players with special needs of all ages, John’s energy, passion, and ability to connect with those less fortunate is unparalleled. ‘Kick with Care’ has been held in close to a dozen Massachusetts communities (and counting) and has positively affected hundreds of players and families.
In addition to ‘Kick with Care’, John has also worked in Sidekick’s Footy Fun Fitness and Top Quality departments. His daughter, Jaden, led the Wolves Futsal Club U14 Girls Heroes in scoring during the 2014 season.
John is currently the Head Coach of the Massachusetts Special Olympics State Champion Belmont team. He is also an assistant coach for the Girls' Varsity team at Prospect Hill Academy.
He holds the US Soccer Federation ‘E’ License, the ICA Fitness and Conditioning for Soccer License, and the NSCAA Goalkeeper II Diploma. He holds certificates from the NFHS for Coaching Unified Sports (Special Olympics), Concussion in Sports, Sports Nutrition, Sportsmanship, Heat Acclimization and Heat Illness Prevention, and Creating a Safe and Respectful Environment. He also is Bare Bones Children’s Yoga certified.
Away from soccer, John works with the Child Life Care department at the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Boston, is a ‘Read to a Child’ reading mentor at the Kennedy School in Somerville, and is a Behavioral Health Disaster Responder with the state department of health. He is a native of Somerville, Mass.

Associate Director - Officiating
Will Chan has become a key part of Sidekick's success, providing professionalism to the role of Director of Officiating in 2015.
Will has helped the organization with identifying and training referees. His knowledge, passion, and ability to connect with administrators, coaches and players of all ages is remarkable.
Will has been a leading force of assigning with the Wolves Futsal Club and Massachusetts League of Nations Football Championship (MALON FC).
He is a member of the USSF, EMSOA, and USYF, having refereed soccer and futsal since 2010. He is a USSF Referee Assignor and is also a certified referee softball, baseball, and basketball official. He is an Acton-Boxborough Public School physical education teacher.
A three-sport varsity letterman at Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall in Waltham, Massachusetts, Will went on to play two years of baseball at NCAA Division III Eastern Nazarene College.
Will currently lives in Brighton with his wife and two sons.
